DiskFit, unlike some backup programs, stores files on the backup disks in regular format. This means that if you only need to restore one or two files, you can simply copy them from the SmartSet disk to your DataFrame.
To restore the whole backup ΓÇö for instance, to a newly reinitialized disk ΓÇö boot up the Macintosh, start up DiskFot, and click Restore. The hard drive will be restored to exactly the structure it had the last time you backed it up, down to the positions of windows in the Finder.
If you are restoring to a drive that is not empty, DiskFit will not erase those files. Furthermore, if you attempt to restore a file that has the same name as a file already on the disk, DiskFit will not skip that file; it will copy it with a new name. Therefore, you should check first to make sure there is enough free space on the drive.
